We are only a little over a week away from Thanksgiving and I am just so excited! Thanksgiving, along with every other holiday, has always been so fun in my family. We have such a big family, and everyone is loud and crazy and so close! On Thanksgiving my parents, my sister, and I used to eat THREE meals. It was insane, but 100% worth it to see everyone.
The past couple of years Jackson and I have spent Thanksgiving with his family in Alabama. Honestly, it’s just a much shorter drive for us to do for a long weekend like that. We only eat the one Thanksgiving meal (I think that’s what normal people do), but it is still a nice time to just be with family. No matter who we spend Thanksgiving with though, I do not miss the Macy’s Thanksgiving parade, and Jackson does not miss football!
I wanted to share an outfit idea for Thanksgiving, but I know everyone dresses so differently for holidays. Some people are more casual, and some are more dressed up. I thought I would style one outfit two ways to show how it can be dressed up, or more casual! I would personally wear either of these on Thanksgiving, depending on what we are doing. (Since we will be in Alabama this year I will probably be in leggings and a Mississippi State jersey. We’re much more casual there, and the Egg Bowl is on Thanksgiving!)
So, this first outfit is definitely for a dressier Thanksgiving dinner. If we were spending Thanksgiving with my family I would wear this to dinner. I think this camel sweater is the perfect color for Thanksgiving, and I paired it with snakeskin booties for a little edgier look. This sweater I recently picked up from Loft, and you can check out everything I tried on in this post.
Now, look two would be my daytime look if we were with my family. We spend the day at my family’s deer camp, so casual clothes are definitely needed. Also, I love the idea of camo tennis shoes at a deer camp ha. (Check out how I styled these camo tennis shoes with leggings here.)
To dress this look down I just traded the snakeskin booties for tennis shoes and layered a jean jacket over the sweater. This sweater is very chic and put together, but I still think it can hide all of those seconds we all have just as good as an oversized sweater. If you prefer to opt for stretchier pants, this sweater is even long enough to wear with leggings in my opinion. I would just wear this second look and trade the jeans out for some nice, black leggings.
What are you most looking forward to this Thanksgiving? What are some of your family traditions? I love hearing what other people love about the holidays!
