I don’t know about you, but all I can think about is warmer weather, laying out on the beach, soaking up some sun, and enjoying a good book. Jackson and I will be going to the beach for a short weekend trip in April with my sister and cousin and their husbands. I cannot wait for some family time in the warm weather. So, I wanted to share some must-have beach items of mine, especially with Spring Break coming up for so many people.
These are items I have either owned for a while, just bought for my trip, or would love to have. I also think almost all of these items are perfect for days by the pool all throughout the summer.
Must-Have Beach Items – Hats
Let’s start with the hats. You always need a good hat at the beach. This San Diego Hat company roll-up hat is almost identical to one I bought at Target a year ago. I love that it rolls up, so it is perfect for traveling. The best feature about this hat though is that it is open in the top. I hate having my hair down when I’m at the beach or by the pool. I prefer to wear it in a bun, so with this hat I can have my hair up and keep the sun out of my eyes. I also wanted to share this hat I found at Asos. It is what beach dreams are made of, and I would love to add it to my collection.
Must-Have Beach Items – Bathing Suits
A beach trip is not complete without a cute bathing suit, in my opinion. I know the trend lately has been high-waisted bottoms and tops with crazy straps and straps that hang off your shoulder, but I’m just not a huge fan. I like a simple bikini. I want to get a tan at the beach, and the last thing I want are weird tan lines. This cheetah bathing suit is adorable. I know the bottoms are high-waisted, but I didn’t buy them. I just bought the top, and I am going to pair them with some simple black bottoms (the top runs a little small). I have a few pairs of black bottoms so I can mix and match them with different tops. Below are two styles I like, and own, in black bottoms.
I also wanted to share these adorable bikinis from Urban Outfitters. I love the colors in both of these. You just can’t go wrong with florals and sunny yellow at the beach.
Must-Have Beach Items – Cover-Up
I just bought this black cover-up from Asos. It is a little low cut, and the slits stop practically at my hip bones, but it’s going over a bathing suit so I thought it was perfect. It’s a very thin cotton material, and it has adjustable straps.
Must-Have Beach Items – Totes
If you’re like me then you’re going to want a huge beach bag to carry all of your necessities. I like having a large tote so I don’t have to make multiple trips up to the condo throughout the day. I have this LL Bean tote that I use for so many things, but it is also perfect as a beach bag. The material is canvas, and you can either get the open one or the one shown above that has a zipper top. I don’t have the zippered one, but I wish I did. I have the extra large size with the regular size handles. I also like this black mesh tote. I don’t own it, but mesh is always great for the beach because any sand will just fall right through.
Must-Have Beach Items
The last two things that I think are must-have beach items are of course sunscreen and a cup holder. I shared this sunscreen in this post with some other summer favorites of mine. This cup holder is great for the beach. You just stick the spike right in the sand and you are set. You don’t have to worry about your drink falling over or having sand all over the bottom of it.
These are just a few of my must-have beach items. What do you have to have at the beach?
